Maternal Health Program

The Maternal/Child Health Program (First Things First/MIECHV) provides home visits, community outreach and health education for women during their pregnancy, postpartum and to breastfeeding mothers, developmental education and developmental screenings for children to age 5.  A nurse or advocate will work with and educate families on the importance of prenatal care and early childhood development and provide health and development education to families, perform well-child exams, which would not include direct health care, in the homes of families who may not be able to travel for routine exams.
